Perspectives in Crohn's Disease

Farmacologia enfermedad crohn Are currently conducting extensive research in the field of pharmacogenomics , in order to examine whether the genetic endowment of an individual to determine their susceptibility to disease or response to treatment. Of particular interest is the use of so-called biochips , that will in the future probably predict what developments will take each individual.

Today, the have no applicability genetic the day. There are many new treatments being studied for Crohn's disease. It is necessary to highlight a couple of lines of research:

The first line of research is the treatment of mycobacterial infection. Some doctors believe that equipment causes Crohn's disease is a bacterium called Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis ( ). This bacterium causes disease in cattle from , similar to Crohn's disease. As a bacterium able to infect various species, it is believed that one of them is the human, which would cause Crohn's disease. A group traditionally interested in this aspect is that of Dr. Hermon Taylor , London (explanatory videos are available in the network). However, other research conducted in Australia, where he treated a group of 213 patients, either this way or with placebo, the results are inconclusive. After 2 years, there were no differences in disease progression between patients treated and those who received placebo. The drugs used are known, some are antibiotics of macrolide (clarithromycin) and others are drugs used against classical ( clofazimine , rifabutin ). There is still, however, a clear pattern and recommended. In summary, there is no reliable news of new treatments in this line, and before marketing is allowed, it requires more solid medical evidence. It is hoped that some centers may, meanwhile, conduct pilot programs of treatment.

A second line is the use of larvae of nematodes ( roundworms TSO ), which may have some interest but are currently in very early stage. In one study, administration of Trichiuris suis larvae for 24 weeks to 29 patients with Crohn's disease showed remarkable results. 79.3% of patients showed response to treatment and 72.4% of patients went into remission.

A good article! on Move Your Mind have recently written an article on biochips very interesting and perhaps you may be interested! Check it out! It is very interesting! Salu2!

Seems to be a character problem, because I had to delete a paragraph (hablama of therapy with 'tea' of Infliximad or similar. We who have had to be only two of the three 'perspectives'.
    :-(

Thanks, I see that happening, I can with some posts and pages (glossary for example) and I just realized on your ad. Looks like a problem I use cms for I looked at the tables and the post is firm.
I hope to fix soon, I will look for development forums in case someone has had this same problem.
